Initial Consultation: Discovery Call
Initial Behaviour Consultation: Discovery Call
If you are getting in touch about a behavioural concern such as anxiety, reactivity, resource guarding, fear-based behaviours, or similar challenges, this consultation is the first step in working together.
This 30-minute session is held via phone or Google Meet video and is a chance for us to talk about what has been happening for your dog, the support you are looking for, and what you hope to achieve moving forward.
It also allows me to start building a clearer understanding of your dog’s individual needs, history, and behaviour so I can guide you towards the most suitable next steps.
After the consultation, I will send through my recommendations, which may include ongoing behaviour support, management advice, or referrals where needed.
Please note: this consultation is for behavioural concerns and is not needed for puppy training or general life skills sessions such as recall, loose leash walking, or everyday skills.
Reactivity Support
If your dog struggles with barking, lunging, growling, or becoming overwhelmed around dogs, people, or other triggers, I offer one-on-one reactivity support tailored to your dog’s individual needs.
These sessions are designed to help you better understand your dog’s behaviour, identify what may be contributing to their responses, and put practical, reward-based strategies in place to support them moving forward. The goal is not just to manage the behaviour, but to help both you and your dog feel more supported and confident.
Support is available in person or virtually, with individual sessions and packages available.

Puppy Life
Welcoming a puppy into your life is a big transition, and the early stages can play such an important role in helping them grow into a confident and well-supported dog. If you are looking for help with things such as toilet training, chewing, puppy biting, recall, lead skills, settling, socialisation, or everyday life skills, I offer personalised puppy support to guide you through it.
Sessions are available one-on-one, either in person or virtually, and can be tailored to suit your puppy’s needs, your lifestyle, and your training goals. I also offer packages for guardians wanting more ongoing support and guidance across those important early months. My approach is reward-based, science-backed, and focused on helping guardians better understand their puppy while building practical skills that support life in our busy human world. Whether you are needing support with a specific concern or wanting a strong foundation from the beginning, puppy sessions can be tailored to meet you where you are.
Dog's do speak but only to those who listen
Understanding the underlying reasons behind our dog's behavior is essential for effective communication and problem-solving. Dogs, like humans, have motivations and instincts that drive their actions, and it is crucial to delve into the "why" behind their behavior rather than simply reacting to the behavior itself.
What training principles and methods do Trail Sniffers use?
At Trail Sniffers, we are committed to following the LIMA approach, which stands for 'Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive.'
Our training methods prioritize the well-being and comfort of your dog, ensuring that we do not use confrontational or forceful techniques.
We work with the dog that is infront of us. Each dog is unique, and we tailor our training approach to suit the individual dog in front of us. By focusing on positive reinforcement, we encourage and reward desirable behaviors, fostering a positive learning experience.
With our LIMA-based approach, we strive to create a training journey that empowers both you and your dog to feel good both on the inside and outside.
